IT'S A BOY!!!

Well, we went to see Dr. Rost last Thursday, March 5th. The reason it's taken me so long to get this posted is because I forgot my password! I blame that on pregnancy brain! It's a real thing you know! 

So after taking measurements of the baby's different parts, we finally got to the "part" we were the most anxious for! Dr. Rost didn't even have to say what baby b was! We SAW that he was BOY!! Since 95% of our friends and family thought we were having a girl it was a shock, but VERY exciting!! We immediately called family and friends and started spreading the wonderful news of our new son! Dr. Rost made us a DVD of the whole sonogram session. It's SO much fun to watch our little man move around! He even looked right at us! SO exciting! He kept his little hands by his face most of the time and it even looked like he was sucking his thumb, because we could see his mouth moving. From the measurements Dr. Rost got, my due date was moved up!! Instead of August 3rd, we're looking at welcoming our boy around July 30th now! Hey that's 4 more days! May not sound like a lot to you, but that 4 days sooner sounds GREAT to me! :) We cannot wait!

We've already gotten a few "boy" outfits from sweet friends and family! Our little man is SO incredibly blessed already by ALL the LOVE and PRAYERS he's getting before he's even here! We are so happy to have the BEST friends and family in the WORLD! It's so much fun to have so many people excited with us! 

We still don't have boy name yet. We're working on that. Since there's so many Buchanan boys in the family we have to choose one that's not already taken! We'll let you know when choose a winner! For now he's just our little man! :) 

We pray for him everyday and it's so reassuring to feel him give me little kicks every now and then. Scott got to feel him too a few days ago! We were watching a movie at my parents house and I put his hand on my tummy and sure enough a little kick that Daddy felt! :) Pretty cool, because we were sitting on the same couch, and in the same spot that Scott proposed to me at almost 4 years ago! A proposal and now our baby boy's first kicks for Daddy! Exciting!

Now on to the planning stages! I'm trying to find bedding I like, that isn't $400! But everything is BLUE! I'm really wanting to use Brown, Avacado Green, and hints of Orange. But that's non existent in baby bedding choices.  If anyone finds anything in those colors, please let me know! 

Well that's all I got for now! We are SO excited to know who is in my tummy now! I'll let you know if we come up with a name for little man! Here's my 18 week picture, but actually I guess I was almost 19 weeks since we moved the due date up a little. There's also some of the sono pictures. One is of his little knees bent with his ankles crossed, the other is his profile sucking his thumb, and then his precious little foot! LOVE this guy!

Mom, dad and "Little man"!!

3 Weeks!!

Well we went to the Dr. today. Everything is going well with me and Baby B! Thank you Lord for protecting us! :) We heard the heart beat again, and it was much stronger and louder this time. Dr. Rost found it right away too! There was a bunch of static noise going on and he said that was actually the baby moving around like crazy! He said I should start feel the baby any where between 2 weeks to a month from now. Can't wait!....(I feel I will want to take the words back in the last month when I'm trying to sleep at night and baby is moving so much, but for now oh well!)

We did get some extra exciting news too. We get to find out boy or girl in just 3 weeks!!! Originally it was supposed to a month from today, but he told us to come back in 3 weeks. And saying 3 weeks sounds so much better then saying "next month"! Our appointment is set for March 5th at 9am. We are praying everything will be "out in the open" if you know what I mean! :)

Here's another updated picture of what we look like now. Just all the sudden baby is popping right out there! :) It's amazing what just 2 weeks can do! I will be 16 weeks on Monday (2/16/09).

Soooo....Welcome to our first Buchanan Blog!

Well we started this exciting journey of pregnancy on December 5th 2008! Actually, it was before then, but we didn't find out until December 5th. I had to wait to go to the Dr. until December 18th. By the time I got to the Dr. I thought I would be about 4 weeks along, well I was actually 7 1/2 weeks along! Crazy! We got our first picture of little Fetus baby and we were so excited!! We instantly went home, took a self timer pic and was on our way to Walgreens to make Christmas Cards! This is how we told everyone. Our Christmas Card said...

"We hope your Christmas is as full of surprises as ours!

Merry Christmas from Scott, Jenny, and Announcing Baby Buchanan coming Aug. 2009!"

It was such a fun way to tell everyone! We just handed them card and watched the WONDERFUL reaction of everyone! It was great! 

We got to hear the baby's heartbeat last month and next month (March) we are finally finding out what we are having!! We cannot wait!! We'll post it as soon as we find out!!

So on top of having a baby, we are looking for a house too! Our 1 bedroom apartment can't fit one more thing in it, and a baby comes with A LOT of things! We are looking out in Keller and praying to find just the right house that Lord has planned for our family! House hunting is quite the experience! We currently have a contract one, but still haven't heard anything. Just patiently waiting! 

I've posted a pic of what I currently like with baby. I'm at 15 weeks on Monday and I'm starting to grow, grow, grow!! I can't wait to actually feel the baby!! I'm sure the flutter will be coming in the few weeks! Woo hoo!

 Well, off to eat some dinner!.....
